Two people from Alabama were arrested in Riley County for multiple drug charges. Stephon Hussey, 33, of Huntsville, Alabama, and Virgil Koppenheffer Jr., 37, of Moulton, Alabama, were arrested Wednesday evening near 10th St. and El Paso Ln. in Manhattan, just north of Fort Riley Blvd.

One woman has died following a shooting in South Wichita. It happened in the 1600 block of South Estelle near Harry and Hillside, just after 2:00 a.m. on Tuesday. Police say she was pronounced dead at the scene

Authorities say a 54-year-old man died after his car crashed into a car and a semi in southeast Kansas on Sunday. The crash happened just before 7 p.m. in Cherokee County. The Kansas Highway Patrol says a Toyota Corolla driven by Ronald Cook was heading west on U.S. 166 near the Missouri state line when his car struck a Chevy Camaro that was also driving westbound. Cook's car then went into oncoming traffic and hit a semi.
Authorities say a homeless man is jailed after charging at officers with a machete at police headquarters in downtown Topeka. The Topeka Capital-Journal reports that the incident began around 2 a.m. Saturday when a man armed with a machete entered the Law Enforcement Center and said he had a bomb. A Topeka woman was taken to the hospital Thursday by air ambulance with serious injuries following a crash. The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office responded to the injury crash around 3 a.m. They report Khelsea Loh, 25, of Topeka, was driving a 1997 Dodge Ram pickup traveling eastbound on 142 Road, just east of U Road in Jackson County.

Sedgwick County Sheriff is investigating a suspicious death after a body was found near 81st Street South and Hydraulic.
Authorities say a driver has died after crashing into a piece of machinery in Shawnee County. The crash happened at around 6:20 p.m. Sunday in the 00 block of West Railroad Street in Silver Lake, which is northwest of Topeka. The sheriff's office says the driver was heading east when his Dodge Challenger went left of center and struck an industrial forklift.

Hospital officials say the mother of four children who all died in a house fire in Pratt has died. Wichita television station KSNW reports that officials with St. Francis Hospital in Wichita confirmed that Charee Eggleston was taken off life support Saturday and died soon after.

Kansas City: Police has released the identity of the third person found dead inside a burning home back in December. Police said the third victim has been identified as 53-year-old Kevin V. McBride. McBride, Gwinn Green, 53, and Ronald Guess, 61, were found dead inside a burning home in the 800 block of Troup Avenue back on December 12, 2017.

The family of a Kansas man fatally shot by police at the door of his home after a hoax emergency call has sued the city of Wichita and the unidentified officers involved. The federal lawsuit filed in U.S. District Court of Kansas seeks unspecified damages related to the Dec. 28 death of Andrew Finch in Wichita. The unarmed 28-year-old man was shot by police responding to a California man’s call with a fake story about a shooting and kidnapping at Finch’s Wichita home.

The Dollar General in the 4500 block of East Pawnee was robbed Saturday evening. The robbery happened sometime after 10:00 p.m. Emergency dispatch reports that police are looking for two suspects that robbed the store at gunpoint. There was one person injured as a result of the robbery; it is not believed that the person was shot.

Overland Park police say they will file charges against a woman who filed an unfounded report of assault on the Indian Creek Trail last weekend. Police said a woman reported she had been assaulted early Saturday morning on the trail near Lamar and West 103rd Street in Overland Park. The woman even reportedly provided a description of the attacker.

One person was killed after being struck by a vehicle on I-70. Just after 9:30 Sunday evening, the Kansas Highway Patrol reports a 2015 Chevrolet Cruze, driven by David C. Janis, 40, of Chapman, was heading east on I-70, just a few miles east of Salina, when he struck a pedestrian walking in the eastbound driving lane.
