Authorities say a teenager was killed when her car overturned and caught fire in northeast Kansas on Tuesday. The crash happened at around 8:45 a.m. about nine miles east of Abilene on Interstate 70. The Kansas Highway Patrol reports 18-year-old Mariah Lowe was heading east when her car left the roadway and struck a concrete culvert before overturning and catching fire.
A metro man is now facing charges after he allegedly forced two children into the trunk of car in Olathe. Daniel S. Hope, 18, has been charged with two counts of aggravated child endangerment in connection with the Jan. 4 incident.

Two people are dead after a crash overnight in McPherson County. The Kansas Highway Patrol stated two vehicles crashed head-on on US Highway 56 about five miles east of McPherson at around 8:50 p.m. Thursday. The drivers of both vehicles, 57-year-old Timothy Kerston from Hillsboro, and 34-year-old Abby McIntosh from Galva were killed in the crash.

The Topeka Police Department has a suspect in custody following a shooting in west Topeka Friday morning. Topeka Police tell KSNT the gunshot victim is a male in his mid 20s and he is alert and talking right now but the severity of his injuries are unknown. The shooting happened some time after 1:30 a.m. near SW 9th and Fairlawn Rd. in the parking lot of the Fairlawn Village shopping center.
